Sage Intacct pricing: questions to ask before accepting a custom quote
Turn a custom Sage Intacct proposal into a line-item scope covering users, entities, modules, implementation, integrations, support, and renewal.
Bottom line
Sage does not publish one universal US Intacct price. Its US pricing page says plans depend on the modules included and the specifications of the organization [Sage, 2026]. A useful quote therefore needs a written scope and a multi-year cost model. Do not compare a configured proposal with the sticker price of a simpler ledger unless both include the work the business actually needs.
Is it right for you?
- Write the operating limits the new system must solve
- List every user, entity, module, integration, and environment
- Separate subscription, implementation, migration, and internal labor
- Run real close, reporting, AP, and approval scenarios
- Require renewal and out-of-scope assumptions in writing
Why the public page cannot answer the budget question
Sage describes Intacct pricing as tailored by organization size, industry, structure, and selected modules [Sage, 2026]. The US page directs buyers to request a quote and provides no monthly list rate; regional pages can differ.
That approach is reasonable for a configurable system, but it moves the burden to the scope document. A verbal assurance that a capability is available does not show whether it is included, requires another module, or adds implementation work.
Build the quote line by line
| Cost area | Questions for the proposal |
|---|---|
| Subscription | Which users, entities, modules, currencies, and environments are included? |
| Implementation | Who designs the chart, workflows, permissions, reports, and opening balances? |
| Migration | How much history, which attachments, and how many test conversions? |
| Integrations | Which connectors, API work, middleware, monitoring, and support? |
| Training and support | Which roles, hours, response levels, and post-launch help? |
| Renewal | Term, price changes, user growth, module changes, and exit assistance? |
Know the trigger for leaving the current system
A move is easier to defend when the current ledger repeatedly fails a named requirement: multi-entity consolidation, dimensional reporting, approval control, revenue workflow, audit trail, or close capacity. Count the workaround and control cost instead of using growth as a slogan.
Also price the narrower alternative. Some businesses can keep the ledger and add AP, expense, reporting, or consolidation support without replacing the whole system.
Use the demonstration as an acceptance test
Ask the seller to process a de-identified supplier bill across the relevant entities, apply approval rules, correct a coding error, pay or export the item, and show the audit trail. Then produce the report that management uses at close.
Record every step performed outside the product, every role that needs a license, and every requested output that requires configuration. Add those items to the quote before approval.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Sage Intacct cost? Sage uses custom pricing based on included modules and organization requirements; request a written proposal [Sage, 2026].
What should never be assumed? Check the written entitlement for each role and requested function, including connections to other systems and help after launch. Ask the seller to identify exclusions.
When can the implementation be worth the work? When the tested control, reporting, entity, or close problems cost more than the change and the proposal resolves them.
What should be compared over three years? Total the recurring licenses and renewals alongside setup, data conversion, connector maintenance, staff time, and any manual process that survives the change.
Is Sage 500 a better option than Sage Intacct? Neither product is a universal upgrade over the other. Sage still advertises Sage 500 upgrades and support for existing customers, and its 2026 Product Update 1 includes tax reporting changes and SQL Server 2025 compatibility. That contradicts treating the product as abandoned. Compare the exact Sage 500 version, support arrangement, operational modules, hosting costs, and migration work with the proposed Intacct configuration [Sage, checked October 12, 2026].
Is Sage Intacct any good? A rating alone cannot establish whether the proposed configuration fits your business. Sage advertises a G2 ease-of-use ranking in the American pricing material, but that vendor-reported distinction is not a guarantee of implementation quality or suitability. Check dated reviews for your industry and module set, then test the close and reporting outputs you require [Sage, checked October 12, 2026].
Is Sage Intacct better than Xero? Compare the work each configured system can perform rather than deciding by company size alone. Xero publishes US monthly plans with different transaction limits and optional add-ons; Intacct uses a tailored US quote. Test the required controls, entities, reports, and integrations in each proposed setup, then compare the full cost of meeting those needs [Xero; Sage, checked October 12, 2026].
