Ramp Pricing 2026: Free Tier, Ramp Plus, What You Pay

Ramp has a genuinely useful free tier. Here is what each plan costs, what the $25K balance requirement means, and when Ramp Plus is worth paying for.

Bottom line

Ramp offers a free core plan, while Plus adds paid controls and ERP features. Budget the per-user charge, platform fee, and any Procurement add-on against the workflows you need. The US card application also has business, address, and cash eligibility requirements; $25,000 alone does not guarantee approval.

Ramp has three plans: Ramp (free), Ramp Plus at $15 per user per month plus a team-size-based platform fee, and Ramp Enterprise (custom pricing). The free plan is not a stripped-down trial. It includes corporate cards, expense tracking, receipt capture, basic accounting integrations, and vendor price intelligence.

Ramp Plus adds multi-entity support, advanced approval workflows, custom fields, and expanded ERP integrations. Procurement is a separate add-on for Plus or Enterprise. Headcount alone cannot determine whether Free supplies the approval rules and connectors you need.

Enterprise is custom-quoted and includes services and global capabilities beyond Plus. Compare like-for-like quotes with Concur or Coupa; the public list price cannot establish which is cheaper for every organization.

Ramp Plus vs Ramp: what the platform fee depends on

Ramp Plus is $15 per user per month, billed on top of a platform fee that Ramp prices by team size. Ramp does not publish the platform fee amount on its pricing page, so the direct answer to "how much is the Ramp Plus platform fee" is that Ramp quotes it per account rather than listing it. Any hard number you find quoted elsewhere is a past quote or an estimate, not a list price [Ramp pricing page, checked October 13, 2026].

Annual billing takes 20% off, applied to the plan rather than only the per-user line [same source].

What separates Plus from the free plan is control, not cards. The free tier already includes corporate cards, expense tracking, receipt capture, basic accounting integrations, and vendor price intelligence. Plus adds multi-entity support, advanced approval workflows, custom fields, and expanded ERP integrations. A team that only needs cards, receipts, and a basic accounting sync gets nothing extra from Plus at any headcount.

Enterprise sits above Plus and is custom-quoted, adding accounting automation connectors for Workday and Oracle Fusion Cloud, global coverage, locally funded reimbursements, and pay card payments in local currency. Procurement is neither plan: it is an add-on you can buy alongside Plus or Enterprise.

When comparing quotes, ask for the total cost of ownership at your headcount: per-user charge times seats, plus the platform fee, plus any add-on modules. Because the platform fee scales with team size while the per-user charge does not, the two lines move differently, and that is usually where quotes for identical headcounts diverge.

The $25,000 balance requirement

For the US application, Ramp requires at least $25,000 in a linked US business bank account, an eligible US-registered entity, primarily US operations and spend, and a qualifying physical US address. Its corporate charge card requires full statement repayment; underwriting also considers cash flows and revenue [Ramp US qualifications, checked October 12, 2026].

This eliminates Ramp for seed-stage startups burning runway with less than $25K in the bank. Compare the actual eligibility terms of Brex or a business debit account; neither should be treated as an automatic fallback approval. Brex also has charge-card repayment and account-specific qualification paths.

If your company clears the threshold, the lack of credit interest charges is actually a benefit. You are not accumulating interest costs. The tradeoff is less flexibility than a true credit line during cash-tight months.

Where Ramp earns back its cost

Ramp reports that customers save an average of 5% on spend through automated duplicate detection, vendor price benchmarking, and policy enforcement. Treat that self-reported average as a vendor claim, not the savings your company will necessarily achieve.

Evaluate Plus using the full quote, including the platform charge and modules. Multiply hours actually avoided in a pilot by your relevant labor cost, then compare that estimate with the recurring subscription and implementation costs; two hours of manual work alone does not prove a positive return.

Check the cashback rate and eligible transactions in your card terms. As a hypothetical calculation, $500,000 of qualifying purchases at 1.5% would earn $7,500; that is not a guaranteed rate or net saving. Paid software and payment charges still belong in the cost comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ramp actually free to use? Yes. For most small businesses there is no subscription or annual fee on the core card and spend-management product. Ramp makes money instead from interchange fees charged to merchants each time a Ramp card is swiped, split with Visa [Contrary Research, 2026].

What does Ramp Plus cost and what do you get? The current monthly list price is $15 for each user, with an additional platform charge that depends on team size. Annual billing advertises a 20% discount. Advanced accounting and approval features are included in the paid scope; purchasing functionality needs its own add-on quote [Ramp pricing, verified 2026-10-12].

How much does Ramp Enterprise cost? Ramp does not list a standard Enterprise fee. The amount depends on your spend, legal-entity count, integrations and requested support, so request a proposal for your setup [Vendr, 2026].

Have customers reported surprise fees at renewal? Yes. Multiple 2026 reports describe platform fees in the $5,000-$10,000 range appearing at contract renewal for organizations, including non-profits, that signed up expecting Ramp to stay free. Reviewers described this as poor communication rather than a fee hidden in the original contract [G2 review roundup, 2026].

Does Ramp charge extra for ACH or vendor payments? Standard ACH costs $0.59 and a standard check costs $1.99; same-day ACH is $10, a domestic wire $15, and SWIFT USD $20. Funding from Ramp Checking waives those eligible charges, but overnight delivery and check attachments remain chargeable. Use the fee applicable to your funding source and any currency conversion [Ramp Bill Pay fee schedule; verified 2026-10-12]. Comparing against Brex as well? Our Brex pricing breakdown covers its Essentials and Premium tiers and who actually qualifies for each.

Who is better, Brex or Ramp? Compare the approved card terms, needed software controls, and full subscription quote. Ramp has a US cash minimum plus entity and address conditions. Brex has separate eligibility tests for daily repayment and monthly statements, with routes for qualifying commercial businesses; it is not limited to venture-funded startups. Capital One completed its acquisition in April 2026. Our Brex pricing page covers its current terms.

Most AP and expense tools offer a free trial or demo. We recommend testing 2–3 options with your actual accounting software before committing to an annual contract.
